Onyx google map
Portland's newest nightclub. After an extensive renovation (the Old Liquid Blue) Onyx is ready to rock. It is an upscale music venue.

Prost! International Tap House google map
A new tap house located at the corner of Fore St. and Union. They have over 105 beers on tap. That is all I need to say.

Bull Feeney's google map
An Irish Pub. Excellent destination for food or a drink. Great for all ages. Their owner is intimidatingly tall.

The Big Easy google map
The Big Easy routinely has the some of the best live music entertainment in Portland. Uncle Eddy at the door is cool as hell. Ken, a bartender/owner, is a hard-working, cool ass motherfucker. This place is higly recommended.

Andy's Old Port Pub google map
One of the friendliest places in town. For an authentic Islander or Portlander feel, check out Andy's. Great for all ages. The owners Jen/Rick are the fan favorites.

RIRA google map
The cougar capital of Commercial St. RiRa's has an excellent menu during the day and great live bands on the weekend. The crowd is generally a little older. This is the closest place to my aparment, so I go ther a lot. I show up drunk and walk back hammered. Joe the bartender is the man.

Brian Boru google map
The place is packed all day. It is an authentic Irish Pub. They have great food during the day and cold beer at night. A perfect destination for groups of all ages. A nice deck out back is my friend Casey's favorite. The manager Roger has great style.

Gritty McDuff's google map
A Portland staple. The brew pub is a must-see for any visitor. They have live music on Thursdays and Saturdays. Full menu during the day. My beer choice is the Brown. The manager is Ryan is chill and the marketing director Thomas hooks me up, Sweet!

One Longfellow Square google map
This is a unique venue that brings performers in from all over the country. I have never been there, I wish I could get invited. Kind of expensive for my budget.

North Star Cafe google map
Whether you call it a coffe shop or a bar, everyone calls it a great place. A great place to hangout during the day and listen to music at night. North Star has a great community feel and I really like the owner Anna and her goal for the Portland music scene.

Slainte google map
A small bar with a great community feel. Comfortable seats and friendly service. Great for all ages, especially for a happy hour place during the week. The owner Ian is the bomb.

Local 188 google map
A restaurant that sometimes has dinner music. They kind of ignore me...whatever

Empire Dine & Dance google map

Nice on the surface, I think it sucks underneath. Their manager Jim is a good man.

De-listed

Blue google map
A smaller wine bar with tremendous live musical acts. The best place in town to take a date. The owner Barry and his girlfriend (I am not sure how to spell Therese?) are great company. Very fun whenever I go.

51 Wharf google map
They have both a restaurant and a night club. At night, 51 Wharf is more suitable for a younger crowd. They have many televisions, it might be a world record for customers per TVs- my girlfriend thinks I like to go there so that I don't have to talk to her.

Geno's Rock Club google map

My opinion is pending

The Asylum google map
More of a younger punk crowd. No one that I know will ever go there and the ownership has never invited me. I have not made a great attempt.

  Bramhall Pub google map
A neighborhood pub that is overrated. They have jerks on Thursday.

The Stadium google map
A great sports bar. Many TV's featuring whatever game you can think of. Their manager has never gotten out of his chair to speak to me, if he could?

  Amigo's google map
Routinely one of the busiest places in town. Better for a younger crowd. Half of Portland had their first beer at Amigos. The $8 PBR pitcher is the drink to get. I used to not be sure of this place, but trust me, it is awesome.

Dogfish Bar & Grille google map
Great for Happy Hour and older crowds. The food is excellent. Their manager is there on Wednesday and no other day? At least that is what they tell me...Probably the most difficult place in town to get a hold of. It seems like a NYC chain to me. However, getting Travis James Humphrey on Friday for happy hour is an intelligent decision, I will give them that.

  Bubba's Sulky Lounge google map
A great party destination if you can find it. Bubba did help jump start my girlfriend's car once, so I will always support this place. Bubbas has unique party nights and everyone I know that goes has a blast, go Bubbas.

White Heart Lounge google map
Not much seating, I don't know much else.
